Treatment of fire-fighting foam residues using lagoon and Reed Bed ,

Aldergrove Airport

 

Lagoon and Reed Bed, design and build:  Aldergrove Airport.  April 2007

 

Requirement to treat fire fighting foam residues from a new fire training ground.

 

The lagoon is designed to store and balance rainwater runoff.

 

A pumping station controls the flow to the reed bed.

 

A subsurface horizontal flow reed bed treats the effluent prior to discharge.
